Clayton, Ohio – “I’ve always had really bad eczema. As I got older, it would get better, but I still had flare ups and patches. I did some research, and as I learned more about natural skincare remedies and regimens, I decided to make my own products,” shared Adrienne Blake, Owner of Blake N Co and Dollface Fit.

“In October 2018, I did a ton of research and tried making a body butter, but I really didn’t like how it turned out. I actually made the decision, at that time, that I would continue purchasing handmade natural products from other businesses. However, I had one reservation – they all seemed to smell ‘earthy’.”

Adrienne opted to continue working on her own products, and in May 2019, she finally found a formulation that worked. “I was so excited because now I could make my own butters that worked and smelled great. I was even more pleasantly surprised to discover that even though I made the body butter to treat my eczema, it actually worked on stretch marks, psoriasis, and a few other skin conditions as well.”

“I originally wanted to only to make a body butter and body scrub. I was already business savvy, so once I realized that I had a good product, I started doing pop up shops, only to find that I now had requests for body splash, candles, facial and hair products. So, I expanded the line. I started my fitness business first, but before I knew it, my skincare business had grown past it, now boasting over 30 products in over 30 scents for women, men, and children.” And Blake’s customers continue to keep the demand for her line of products high.

Blake opened her brick and mortar store on June 14th, 2020 after being in business for one year, doing the pop-up shops around her city, where she could meet her customer base, and they could get to know her products. “I believe that people need to be able to smell and touch and ask questions about products they’ll be putting on their skin. And I knew that once my customers tried my products for themselves, they would be sold.” To aid potential customers in getting to know her products, Blake offers Sampler Kits for purchase in her online store, including three different scents to try.

Even with ongoing expansion, Blake’s products remain all natural and all handmade, with no commercial production to date. Each new release is handcrafted in small batches in limited quantities and sell quickly. Serving up seasonal scents like Almond Chai, Twisted Peppermint, Pumpkin Cashmere, Vanilla Berry, and Warmth, in her winter line of products, Blake continues to draw customers nationally to her online site to purchase her brand of products.
